Completed within a three-year period, 1983 - 1985, the Figurative Studies consist of approximately 800 nudes, each one drawn within a one and five-minute time frame and rendered in combinations of ink, charcoal, chalk, graphite, oil stick, Conte crayon, and watercolor on paper. The energy exhaled from the model, captured at the moment, and my perception of that, inspires the medium used, the color, line quality, spontaneity of approach, technique, and overall essence of each drawing.
